Mitigating Floods from Sea Level Rise in Mission Bay, California, using QGIS and HEC-RAS
Conducted a two-dimensional hydraulic flood risk assessment of projected sea level rise scenarios for the year 2100, using QGIS, HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS. Evaluated the performance of a levee and living shoreline solution for mitigating high water levels, which successfully protected the Mission Beach strip along the ocean and inland coastal regions, totalling up to an area of 6 km².
[Ongoing Project; Report to be updated]
Worked as part of a team to develop a water budget for Orange Lake Wetland. Quantified inflows, outflows, and storage changes using precipitation, evapotranspiration, and lake level data to understand wetland hydrologic behaviour.
